Grid Resiliency through energy storage in SW Ontario

When: 11/20/2013  |  Where: Best Western Guildwood Inn, Sarnia/Point Edward, Ontario, Canada

We invite you to find out what the new Energy Storage technologies can do for your plant.

What is the cost of losing power to your most critical systems, or suffering a plant-wide voltage dip?

Relays trip, pumps and motors stop and even if everything shuts down the way it’s intended, there is the loss of feedstock being processed and loss of production volume. Add to that the risk of a safety or environmental incident and all the challenges that come with starting up after a forced outage, and the cost can be extremely high.

However, new technologies are becoming available that can reduce the risk and cost of power outages. Gone are the days when the only alternative available was a bank of lead-acid batteries and rectifier backing up your computers or critical control systems. New technologies can now supply enough power on a short term basis to safely take the entire plant through a power quality or short term outage event, or keep critical equipment on line long enough to shut the plant down in a controlled manner.

Join us on November 20th to learn more about these new technologies, the impact they will have on the electrical system and market, and what they can do for your plant.

He is passionate about innovation and creation through intelligence, and creativity – and helping people in any way he can.

• Liam Martin is a Co-Founder and CMO of Staff.com, an online staffing agency that focuses on long term remote working relationships – meaning the staff they place work from their homes anywhere in the world. Staff.com follows this example itself, with almost 50 virtual employees across nine countries. Liam is also a Co-Founder and director of marketing at Time Doctor, a company that develops tools for team productivity concentrating on improving communication for remote teams. His recent venture, Rumidifier Home Comforts Inc., manufactures a full line of eco-friendly and patented humidifiers for residential market applications. Jeri is a millionaire real estate investor, writer and director – and a stand-up comedian in his spare time. He also volunteers his time to inspire and breed next generation “Teenpreneurs” in his community.

Just from these brief bios, our panelists all share some common attributes. Each is a successful serial entrepreneur at a relatively young age. Each is already very focused on “giving back” to our community. And, each balances their many demands while still finding time for their personal interests.

Please join us for an evening as we share their ups and downs, what they’ve learned – and what they would change. We’ll share some insights on securing lead customers, attracting investors, global marketing (as a start up), building a strong board, and maintaining a high performance team. Most important, we’ll be sharing those views from a “Founders perch.”

Should be a fun evening!
